Children’s Liturgy Coordinator

 

A Children’s Liturgy Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the team of Children’s Liturgy Leaders in order to ensure that children are provided with liturgical readings and activities appropriate for their age, on a weekly basis. A police background check and vulnerable sector screening are required for this position.

Responsibilities: Tasks assigned to the coordinator include the recruitment, training, and scheduling of volunteer leaders. Seasonal meetings to plan liturgies, communicating with the leaders, and organizing the annual feedback process are also essential roles of this position. There may also be opportunity to involve youth in a leadership role within this Ministry.

Skills, Attitudes, Knowledge: The Children’s Liturgy Coordinator will be an active member of the church community who is comfortable with spirituality and faith. They will enjoy working with children; and will have strong organizational, leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Imagination, creativity and prayerfulness are also assets in this position.

Time Commitment: In order for the program to be successful, the Children’s Liturgy Coordinator should be prepared to commit to this role for no less than a two year period. It is important that the coordinator also be involved as a regular liturgy leader.
